We have partnered with DoorDash Drive!

According to multiple sources such as Business Insider and Restaurant Business Magazine, the demand for restaurant delivery services is on the rise.

As a result, restaurants are finding it difficult to hire restaurant delivery drivers to fulfill the massive increase in delivery orders they have seen since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For that reason, we are excited to announce that we have partnered with the third-party services and popular food delivery app, DoorDash!

Why did we partner with DoorDash?

We have teamed up with DoorDash, the nation’s leading last-mile logistics platform, to give thousands of restaurant business owners the ability to improve the customer experience and better manage their own delivery channels.

Restaurants are finding it increasingly difficult to source and employ in-house delivery service providers. But by using our restaurant delivery software, restaurants will be able to automatically redirect orders they cannot fulfill themselves to DoorDash (and other third-party fleets)!

Speaking about the partnership, Casey North, Vice President of DoorDash Drive said

“Many restaurants have worked hard to build their own delivery offering, preferring to offer delivery in-house in order to better own the end-to-end customer experience or to create new opportunities for their existing staff. That’s why we launched Self-Delivery in November of last year, to help restaurants grow their business and fulfill orders in-house. We’re excited to team up with VROMO to create even more options and functionality for restaurants that wish to fulfill delivery orders on their own. Through this integration, we hope restaurants can reach even more customers in order to strategically build their off-premises business.”

As a result, restaurants will be better equipped to deal with the surge in on-demand delivery orders that are expected in the coming years.

How will restaurants benefit from the DoorDash integration?

By integrating our food delivery software with DoorDash’s third-party delivery platform we can now offer restaurants the chance to turn their delivery channel into a more efficient and profitable business model.

Here’s exactly how they can do it:

Reduced delivery costs: restaurants interested in using DoorDash Drive as a fulfillment partner through VROMO (or if you are already a DoorDash restaurant partner or DoorDash merchant) can avail of a more affordable option as a direct result of our exclusive discounted delivery charges.

Increased visibility of third-party delivery services: our software gives restaurants the ability to capture and analyze delivery data, including the data of third-party platforms that, without VROMO, would not be available to restaurants. As a result, restaurants can ensure compliance and service levels are never compromised.

Improved customer satisfaction: alongside greater compliance and service levels, restaurants can capture more 5-star ratings with the SMS marketing capabilities available to them through our platform (without the additional marketing fees!). By automatically sending their customer base an SMS containing a link to track their order and other widgets such as promotions and prompts to leave a tip/review, restaurants can reduce last-mile delivery problems and build customer loyalty.

A surge in order volume & fulfillment: by increasing the restaurant’s delivery partner options with an additional fleet partnership, we’re helping restaurants capture that order volume they may have previously been forced to reject and fulfill it successfully. Ultimately helping them to turn their food delivery service into a more sustainable business model.

What direct results have/will restaurant owners see?

New England-based Papa Gino’s was our first restaurant partner to use our delivery management system and has just completed a full rollout to all of their restaurants offering delivery.

Papa Gino’s operates a first-party delivery model, meaning they employ their own delivery agents to fulfill orders from their near-100 restaurants across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

However, as a result of our partnership, Papa Gino’s can now call on DoorDash during peak delivery periods to ensure fulfillment levels are never compromised.

The trial proved a success for the restaurant chain, with our DoorDash partnership playing a critical role in their fulfillment rates. In addition, by using our comprehensive delivery solution, Papa Gino’s was able to make their delivery process more efficient. Below are some key results they experienced as a result:

  • a 15% increase in fulfillment rates
  • a 24% decrease in the total cost of their delivery operations
  • a 20% decrease in delivery wait times

Speaking about the partnership, Tom Sterrett, Chief Executive Officer at Papa Gino’s spoke about the benefits their restaurant saw as a result of this partnership:

“Delivery is a big part of Papa Gino’s business, and there is nothing more important to us than making sure a guest feels like they get a 5-star guest experience when their food gets to their door. We love the fact that VROMO allows us to manage our deliveries so we can provide our guests with the best experience possible, whether it’s using our own drivers or leveraging a great partner like DoorDash to handle overflow in peak times or to help us expand our delivery zones. This wouldn’t be possible without VROMO.”

We recently hosted a webinar with Papa Gino’s where they spoke about the benefits their restaurant chain has seen since the implementation of our delivery management software.
